Overview

This 7-day Sichuan journey combines Chengdu's local lifestyle, giant pandas, spectacular UNESCO-listed landscapes and authentic Tibetan-Qiang cultural experiences.

The first two days focus on Chengdu and its surrounding areas. After a relaxed arrival day, travel to Wolong for  panda volunteer  experience and learn more about panda conservation and daily care. Continue to Dujiangyan, where historic streets and evening scenery offer a glimpse into the relaxed lifestyle of Sichuan.

The journey then continues by high-speed train toward northwestern Sichuan, visiting Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou. Huanglong is renowned for its colorful travertine pools, snow mountains, valleys and forests, while Jiuzhaigou is famous for its turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls, colorful forests and alpine scenery. 

enjoy hands-on cultural experiences such as Tibetan incense making, traditional prayer flag rituals and Qiang embroidery, creating a deeper connection with the local culture.

The journey concludes back in Chengdu with a full free day, giving you time to explore local food, teahouses, shopping districts, creative neighborhoods and Chengdu's laid-back urban lifestyle.

Day 1 Arrival in Chengdu

Upon arrival in Chengdu, your private driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your city-center hotel.

No intensive sightseeing is planned today, giving you time to rest, adjust to the time difference and settle into Chengdu's relaxed pace of life.

Known for its laid-back lifestyle, Chengdu is a city best enjoyed slowly. In the evening, enjoy an authentic Sichuan dinner and discover the bold, spicy flavors of the region. If you feel comfortable, take a gentle walk around the neighborhood and experience Chengdu after dark.

Day 2 Panda Volunteers Experience → Dujiangyan

After breakfast, travel toward the Wolong area for one of the most memorable experiences of the trip — Be a panda keeper for a day

Under the guidance of the local team, learn about giant panda conservation and daily care, with activities such as preparing panda food, feeding and educational tasks depending on the actual program arrangement. China's national giant panda conservation and research system includes Wolong facilities such as Shenshuping and Hetaoping and is responsible for panda conservation, breeding, reintroduction research and science education.

Continue to Dujiangyan in the afternoon.

As evening approaches, explore the historic streets around Dujiangyan at a relaxed pace. With traditional architecture, local restaurants and illuminated streets, the area offers a more atmospheric way to experience everyday Sichuan culture.

Return to Chengdu after dinner.

Day 3 Chengdu → Huanglong → Jiuzhaigou

After breakfast, transfer to the railway station and take a high-speed train toward northwestern Sichuan.

Continue to Huanglong National Scenic Area, famous for its terraces of colorful travertine pools flowing through the mountain landscape. The colors of the pools change with minerals, sunlight and surrounding vegetation, creating a remarkable contrast with the forests and snow mountains.

Huanglong's official tourism authority identifies colorful pools, snow mountains, valleys and forests as its signature natural features. The area is also recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site, World Biosphere Reserve and national 5A scenic area.

After the visit, continue to Jiuzhaigou and check into your hotel near the scenic area.

In the evening, enjoy a Tibetan-style dinner and experience the distinctive food culture of northwestern Sichuan.

Day 4 Discover Jiuzhaigou | Turquoise Lakes, Waterfalls & Tibetan Crafts

After breakfast, enter Jiuzhaigou National Scenic Area for a full day of exploration.

Jiuzhaigou is famous for the way its alpine lakes, forests, waterfalls and snow mountains come together across different elevations. The official tourism platform also promotes ecological, discovery, Tibetan cultural and photography-focused experiences.

Use the scenic-area shuttle to travel between different sections and explore according to the day's operating conditions and visitor flow. Along the way, admire crystal-clear lakes, cascading waterfalls and colorful mountain forests.

After sightseeing, enjoy a hands-on Tibetan cultural experience.

Learn how traditional Tibetan incense is made using natural ingredients and discover its cultural significance. Continue with a traditional prayer flag experience, offering a meaningful introduction to the spiritual traditions of the region.

Day 5 Jiuzhaigou → Chengdu → Qiang Embroidery

Enjoy a relaxed morning near Jiuzhaigou, with time to rest, walk around the hotel area or shop for local souvenirs.

Later, transfer to the railway station and take the high-speed train back to Chengdu.

After arrival, enjoy a cultural Qiang embroidery workshop. Qiang embroidery features distinctive ethnic patterns and traditional craftsmanship.

Under the guidance of a local instructor, learn about traditional patterns, colors and basic embroidery techniques before creating a small piece yourself.

Rather than simply buying a souvenir, making something by hand provides a more personal memory to take home.

Day 6 Full Day at Leisure in Chengdu

Today is completely yours.

For history and traditional architecture, explore areas such as Wenshu Monastery,Kuanzhai Alley and Jinli Ancient Street. For modern Chengdu, head to Chunxi Road,Eastern Suburbs Memory and Taikoo Li to experience the city's younger and more fashionable side.

Food lovers can dedicate the day to Sichuan cuisine, from hot pot and skewers to dandan noodles, Zhong dumplings and sweet-water noodles.

For a more relaxed experience, find a traditional teahouse, order a bowl-covered tea and simply watch locals chat, play cards and enjoy Chengdu's famously slow-paced lifestyle.

Day 7 Chengdu → Airport/Train Station → Departure

Enjoy some final free time according to your departure schedule.

Your private vehicle will then transfer you to Chengdu airport or the railway station.
